Hey Mosaic Family!
In case I haven't had the opportunity to meet you yet, I want to introduce myself. My name is Garrett Snyder and I recently joined the team as the Elementary Minister. As I've stepped into my role with Mosaic, I've reflected on my path to get here, a path which has clearly been prepared by the Lord.
Although I was born and raised in the small state of Delaware, my family and I moved to the large state of Texas when I was 12 years old. I was raised in the church, but didn’t truly come to faith until I was in college at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Not long after coming to faith I had a desire to really live my life for Christ which led to working my summers at a gospel-centered camp in Tyler, Texas. This opportunity opened my eyes to the passion that I had for working with and getting to share truth and life with children. The Lord used that passion to push me to seek out opportunities to serve in family ministry. I sought out opportunities to grow in my faith through my undergraduate degree, the Forge program at Pine Cove, and a few other ministry experiences. All of these experiences led me to the conclusion that the most important and effective way to impact a child’s life with the gospel, is for the child to be living in a home that has, itself, been clearly impacted by the gospel! All of this is exactly why my biggest passion in family ministry is to simply come alongside families as they plant gospel seeds into the hearts and minds of their children.
This is why I am so excited for the do-it-yourself family discipleship opportunity we have coming up soon! On June 1st, 2024 Mosaic will have our first-ever DIY Family Day! In an effort to come alongside you as you disciple and raise up your kids, we have created a guide and list of resources on our website to give parents structure for the day. We hope to encourage our Mosaic Families to take ownership of at home discipleship in a manner that is free flowing and fun on Family Day! There's a lot of freedom in how this day looks, you could do it solo or you could partner with other families, you can do all the activities or you can do half of them, you can go out and grab all of the snacks or none of them!
It is our great hope that you would allow us to come alongside you and your family on June 1st! We want to continue to partner with you as you think of creative ways to cultivate a gospel centered environment in your homes! Although we won’t all be together on this day, we want to encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to put at-home discipleship into practice! I’m looking forward to both hearing all the stories from our DIY Family Day and to the future opportunities I have to come alongside each of you. Mosaic, I think this the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
